I write a quite a bit of prose, in general short stories. A lot of them, but not all aimed at children. But poetry is a distinct matter, while I liked to read and listen to all sorts of poetry. I had always avoided trying to write it, in general because I hadn't a clue how to go about it (still haven't).

Despite my misgivings, other members of the writing group that I attend, persuaded me to give it a try and like a fool I agreed, knowing full well that I could not meet their exacting standards. Not to worry I thought, I could only do my best, even if it turned out to be rubbish. Unable to get to grips with formal sonnets, I decided to try my hand at free verse. But when the waste bin overflowed, I gave it up as a bad job and decided to clear the carport instead.

Which turned out to be a good idea, because I came across one of Katie's old toys, a fuzzy, one eyed monster from, "Monsters Inc" I think his name was Michael? Anyway it started me writing and the effect is below.

Can't Find Him Anywhere.

I cannot find my Monster; I can't find him anywhere.

Last time that I saw him he was in the big armchair.

I only went to the kitchen to butter us both a scone.

When I returned, he wasn't there; I wonder where he's gone.

.

Have you seen my Monster? He's really, admittedly tall.

You'll know him if you see him, he's like a fluffy ball.

I've looked in any place in all the places I could think.

I've even searched the cupboard, under the kitchen sink.

.

If he comes toward you, while walking down the lane

Though he's big and strong and can be an awful pain.

He's admittedly just a pussycat and wouldn't harm a fly.

So don't get all worried; he'll never make you cry.

.

If you find him hiding behind a big old tree

Give him lots of kisses and send him home to me

Tell him that I love him, because I really, admittedly do

And I'll never try again, to flush him down the loo.

How About this one?

Mirror

Mirror, mirror, on the wall

Why am I so very small?

When will I start to grow?

Can you help me, yes, or, no?

.

Mirror, mirror, oh so wise

Can you tell me about my size?

Will I always be a exiguous mite?

Or will I grow to reach the light?

.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall

Tell me please will I be tall?

Can't you help with my need?

Tell me if I'll stay a weed

.

Mirror, mirror, are you there?

Hang on a sec; I'll get a chair.

There, that's better. This is me.

Tell me true what do you see

.

Mirror, mirror, you're awfully dumb

I think I'll go and ask my mum.

Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by frequent pauses in breathing while sleep. Three types of sleep apnea exist: central, obstructive and mixed. Obstructive is the most common, resulting from over-relaxation of throat muscles, causing the windpipe to collapse and block the airway. Treatments for sleep apnea range from uncomplicated lifestyle changes to surgery. One of the most common non-invasive treatments is the sleep apnea pillow.

A sleep apnea pillow is a pillow that is designed for snorers, since snoring is one of the most common indicators of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea pillows are designed to support the neck, to prevent patients from rolling onto their backs (where snoring and sleep apnea can worsen), to cradle the head, to elongate the neck and keep the tongue from blocking the airway, and to sustain side sleepers by relieving pressure on shoulders and arms.

Several distinct manufacturers claim their sleep apnea pillows achieve the above objectives, but Sona pillow is the only sleep apnea pillow approved by the Food and Drug administration (Fda) as an over-the counter treatment.

The Sona sleep apnea pillow at first looks rather odd. A two-layered triangle instead of a solid rectangle, this sleep apnea pillow resembles a padded boomerang more than a pillow. The angular design, though, is what makes this pillow helpful in treating sleep apnea. The shape is intended to declare sleep in the side position. Two inclined surfaces make up the customary sleeping surface, with a flatter lower surface in the center.

Each lower part of the triangle of the sleep apnea pillow has a training arm sling. To properly use the pillow lie on whether side, enlarge your arm in the open space under the pillow. Your arm should be kept extended while sleeping and the head should be maintained on the same side as the extended hand.

Initially, you may use the training arm sling to declare this position by placing the arm in the space between the pillow and the sling. For supplementary sleep compliance, you can use a body pillow to hug over, or to put between the legs to help declare the side sleeping position. Using the sleep apnea pillow in this manner allows the jaw to be pulled forward, preventing the tongue from falling backward and obstructing the throat.

Certain portions of the populations are not candidates for the Sona sleep apnea pillow. people with severe sleep apnea do not benefit from using the Sona sleep apnea pillow as a solo therapy. Obese individuals with a body mass index (Bmi) of over 30 will not get the snoring relief obtained by thinner members of the population.

The Sona sleep apnea pillow, like all pillows, undergoes normal wear and tear, and should be periodically fluffed. The makers of Sona pillow also recommend replacing the sleep apnea pillow annually.

Before purchasing the Sona sleep apnea pillow, or any sleep apnea pillow, consult your physician.
